the future of content
after writing and contemplating the artist corporation ted talk by Yancey Strickler
i rememebered watching this talk given at SXSW by
jack conte
super interesting concepts where he dives into the future of
web 3.0
the death of the follower
and paying creators directly through companies like his company”Patreon”
and how his intention through the company is to solve a host of issues that are self generated by the public platforms and algorithms .
this idea seems to be the on the same ideological framework of yancey’s ted talk about the artist corporation, but jack it tackling the problem of creators turning their followings into strong communities that fund the production of the content through the digital market place of patreon
while yancey is more focused on the legal infastructure to protect the rights of creatives
both seem important and build on each other
in my opinion…
just some thoughts
